Global Safety Week | Zero Harm at Work and at Home

At Clarke Energy, we recognise that health and safety is crucial to our operations, particularly in the energy and engineering industry where risks are inherent.

At our headquarters in the UK, we recently marked the fourth annual Global Safety Week, held from the 10th to the 14th of June 2024. With the theme “Zero Harm at Work and at Home,” this year’s event emphasised the importance of safety across all environments, extending from the workplace to employees’ homes.

The initiative was spearheaded by our dedicated QUENSH team and featured a range of engaging educational activities aimed at promoting safety awareness and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Activities and Highlights:

  • First Aid Training: A hands-on AED (Automated External Defibrillator) & CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) session equipped employees with essential lifesaving skills.
  • Hazard Hunt: A comprehensive Site-Wide Hazard Hunt encouraged employees to identify and report potential safety risks in both their workplace and home environments, including those working remotely. This activity aimed to foster a proactive approach to hazard recognition and mitigation.
  • Fire Safety Awareness Quiz: We tested employees’ knowledge of fire safety procedures for both office and home settings, reinforcing preparedness for various scenarios.

  • Bulletin Campaign: A series of safety bulletins were disseminated throughout the week, featuring crucial information and reminders about workplace safety protocols and best practices.
  • Health and Wellness: Our ongoing HR Health and Wellness Campaign included blood pressure testing sessions, reinforcing the significance of monitoring personal health.
  • Toolbox Talks: The Projects Team delivered Toolbox Talks and displayed bulletins on various safety-related topics, contributing to a deeper understanding of workplace safety measures and procedures.

We extend our thanks to the QUENSH team for their exceptional efforts in organising this year’s activities and to all employees for their active participation. Your commitment to safety is vital and integral to our success in delivering a safe, reliable and high-quality service.

Together, we are building a safer future, integrating safety into every aspect of our engineering projects and daily lives. Safety at Clarke Energy is a shared responsibility and a core value.

Thank you for making Safety Week 2024 a success and for your continuous commitment to a safe working environment.
