At Clarke Energy Australia, we recognise the immense sacrifices made by those who protect our communities. Emergency services personnel stand on the frontline daily, responding to crises with unwavering dedication. However, the mental toll of their work often goes unnoticed.
That’s why we’re proud to continue our sponsorship of the Australian Combined Emergency Services (ACES) team in the 2025 ANZAC Day Challenge a milestone event marking its 20th anniversary. More than just an AFL match, this game shines a light on the mental health challenges faced by emergency service workers and how we, as a community, can support them.
Beyond the Badge: The Mental Health Challenge
Behind the uniform, emergency responders face an often-unseen struggle. The emotional weight of critical incidents, long shifts, and high-pressure situations can take a serious toll. While resilience is a key trait in these professions, the stigma around mental health prevents many from seeking the help they need.
The ANZAC Day Challenge is about more than football. It’s about starting conversations, breaking down barriers, and ensuring those who dedicate their lives to protecting us receive the mental health support they deserve.
The Game That Gives Back
The 2025 ANZAC Day Challenge at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, 26 April isn’t just a thrilling curtain-raiser to the Port Adelaide vs North Melbourne AFL clash – it’s a tribute to service, sacrifice, and resilience.
This match not only showcases the talent and dedication of the ACES team as they face off against the Australian Defence Force All-Stars, but it also serves as a platform to honour those who have given their lives in the line of duty.
More importantly, it plays a pivotal role in raising awareness for Military and Emergency Services Health Australia’s (MESHA’s) Emergency Services Wellbeing Project – an initiative providing targeted mental health support for first responders, facilitated by experts with lived experience.
Clarke Energy’s Commitment
At Clarke Energy, we believe that building stronger, healthier communities extends beyond our industry. As a long-term sponsor of the ACES ANZAC Day Challenge, we are committed to championing the mental wellbeing of emergency service personnel.
By supporting initiatives like this, we hope to drive meaningful change, break down mental health stigma, and ensure our everyday heroes receive the care and resources they need.
