Job Title: Site Engineer
Function: Projects
Reporting to: Directly report to the Project Engineering Manager. Functionally report to the Site Management Lead.
Scope: Clarke Energy Ltd
Location: UK, possible Ireland
Job Purpose: Deliver the assigned construction and engineering projects successfully at site level whilst conforming to time, scope and quality requirements.
Majority of time spent: On or between UK construction sites.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are always understood and adhered to.
- Act as the client’s primary focus on a day-to-day basis, acting in a professional and courteous manner
- To reduce the reliance and costs associated with subcontracted small works, including the associated costs for the in-house supervision element, there is a requirement for a dedicated Site Engineer role.
- Produce and submit accurate RAMS for works and submit in good time.
- Co-ordinate works with the Project Engineering Manager, and sites, to ensure works are prioritised appropriately, and carried out as efficiently as possible.
- Plan and carry out assigned works in a professional and safe manner.
- Assist the Projects Health & Safety Team in mobilisation and demobilisation of construction sites.
- Work with the Project Engineering Team to close out assigned snags.
- Provide photographic evidence of works completed by utilising provided IT equipment and mobile apps.
- Write detailed reports and updates for the Project Engineering Manager and Site Management Lead.
- Liaise with Purchasing to procure necessary tools and consumables in good time.
- Assist with occasional out-of-hours working such as night time surveys for lighting / noise tests.
- Suggest and implement cost-effective solutions and proposals, acting as the focal point for unexpected technical difficulties and other problems, ensuring that they are resolved in a timely manner.
Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience within a relevant discipline, such as construction, electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Good understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
- CSCS card holder in relevant disciplines
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- Competency in multiple construction disciplines eg. several across electrical / plumbing / joinery / painting / general handywork
- Good IT skills – Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project, Teams, able to communicate and use VPN, video conferencing and mobile platforms.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of current ‘Construction (Design and Management) Regulations’
- First Aid at Work
- IOSH
- Electrical / Gas competency
