Job Title: Engineering Document Controller
Reporting to: Engineering Director

Location: Knowsley
Job Purpose: Responsible for managing and controlling project documentation across multiple engineering projects. This role is essential in ensuring all technical documentation is well-organised, up to date, and accessible to key stakeholders within the business.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and control all engineering project documents, ensuring proper categorization, storage, and version control.
- Ensure timely distribution of all relevant documents to internal teams, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Track the status of documents, including approvals, revisions, and updates, and ensure all stakeholders are informed of any changes.
- Ensure all documentation is compliant with company, client, and industry standards, including health and safety regulations.
- Create and maintain accurate records of all documentation and ensure archiving of documents as required at the completion of projects.
- Manage the document control system (e.g., SharePoint, EDMS, or other electronic document management systems) to ensure it meets project requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure all documentation needs are met and project deadlines are supported.
- Ensure all documents are properly checked and approved before distribution, and that they meet Clarke Energy’s quality standards.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing access to relevant documentation, and generating reports on document control activities as needed.
- Train new staff and team members on document control processes and systems to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
- Previous experience as a Document Controller, preferably within an engineering, construction, or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with document control systems.
- Strong organisational skills with a meticulous approach to managing documents, ensuring accuracy and version control.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, project managers, and external parties.
- Ability to anticipate and resolve documentation-related challenges in a fast-paced project environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and capable of learning new software systems quickly.
- Strong time management and multitasking skills to manage multiple documentation workflows simultaneously.
Desirable:
- Experience working in an engineering or construction firm would be highly beneficial.
- Certification in document control or records management would be an advantage.
