En Anglais: Clarke Energy Expands into Algeria

Algeria ExpansionIn March 2011, Clarke Energy was granted the distributorship for GE Jenbacher gas engines in Algeria. Clarke Energy’s operations are now based out of the Algerian capital, Algiers. The Algerian economy, having a strong petrochemical sector offers a range of potential projects for gas engine based power systems.

Clarke Energy’s team initially consists of a Sales Manager, Technical Support Engineer and a Regional Manager. The intention for the future is to develop a local service centre with an Algerian partner. Clarke Energy sees significant potential for the generation of power from associated petroleum gas where gas that would otherwise have been flared can be fed into gas engines to provide power for surrounding installations.

Also with the development of the Algerian gas grid, there is great potential for cogeneration and trigeneration systems where gas engines can provide high efficiency electricity, heating and cooling for industrial applications.

Further to these gas applications as Algeria develops there is also potential for the generation of renewable power from biological gases such as landfill gas and sewage gas. Clarke Energy welcomes our new employees in Algeria and looks forward to helping the country develop its power infrastructure.
