The team at Clarke Energy are delighted to have been awarded the ISO 45001 certification for our responsible approach towards Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) in the workplace. This international standard demonstrates the companies ongoing commitment to providing a safe environment to work in for our staff and customers. The ISO 45001 management system ensures that the performance of the company matches the high levels of environmental performance of the products we supply.
Dave Dingle – QUENSH Department Manger commented:
“The migration from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001, has been a team effort from all employees within the business, and compliments our Integrated Management System structure already in-place”
ISO 45001 is the world’s first international standard dealing with health and safety at work, replacing OHSAS 18001 which was the previous benchmark for OH&S. New elements in the ISO 45001 standard include providing a clear link between health and safety and business strategy, a stronger focus on the role of business leadership and management teams, and greater emphasis on worker engagement and participation. The new certification implements the high-level structure, compatible with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015.
Rather than joining separate systems together, an ISO 45001 based integrated management system (IMS) combines all related components of Clarke Energy’s business into one enabling easier management and operations. Integrating and managing Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety management systems means similar processes are seamlessly managed and executed without duplication. The IMS systems work together, with each function aligned behind a single goal: improving the performance of our entire business.
The IMS will bring benefits to Clarke Energy through increased efficiency and effectiveness, and cost reductions while minimising the disruption caused by several external audits. It also shows our commitment to increased performance, employee and customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
