Clarke Energy is now a proud member of Bioenergy Australia, the innovative organisation with the aim of accelerating Australia’s energy transformation to bio-based fuel, gas, heat and power.
The collaboration is the ideal alignment of strengths and capability as Clarke Energy continues to develop and supply our factory-built, biogas packages that are essentially ‘plug and play’ across Australia and New Zealand, including most recently at Sydney Water’s Malabar Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Bioenergy is energy derived from biomass – plants, animals, and their by-products and residues – which is converted to bioenergy to power for our cities and industries, planes, vehicles and homes.
At Sydney Water’s Malabar plant Clarke Energy’s successful containerised solution turns biogas (a waste product created naturally when wastewater sludge is broken down by bacteria in anaerobic digesters) into high efficiency electricity and heat using the INNIO Jenbacher gas engines that simultaneously produce power for the treatment plant and heat.
In return, the heat generated by the engines through combustion is provided to the digesters, increasing gas production, increasing site efficiency and consequently reducing carbon emissions.
Clarke Energy enjoys a long and successful history of delivering innovative solutions. Over 50MW of Jenbacher gas engine generating sets for Biogas to Energy projects have now been delivered throughout Australia and New Zealand
