On 8th June 2022 Clarke Energy’s offices around the world participated in the first KOHLER Safety Day. Knowing how important hands are in our daily lives our Safety Day emphasized hand safety, with the theme “Safety, it’s in your hands.”
In the UK the Clarke Energy team participated in the activities, facilitated by the Knowsley QUENSH team. This was a business wide initiative with activities based at the Knowsley Site – and including our operational engineering colleagues.
The activities included:
- Hazard Hunt
- Fleet Quiz
- Introduction of our Serious 10 ‘Life Saving Rules’
- Awareness of our highest causes of Accidents
- Slips, trips and Fall
- Manual Handling
- PPE – selection and misuse of
- Site wide Poster campaign and Factsheets (all employees were sent emails
- Homeworking factsheet (topical issue at the moment)
- HR Health Wellness campaign
- Blood Pressure testing for individuals (this will now be an ongoing monthly activity)
- Mental Health First Aiders were available throughout the day
- Pocket size booklets on this topic were available throughout the facility – for personal use
- First Aiders were also available for friendly advice and knowledge
- Announcements of current and upcoming significant events
- Introduction of Lone Working devices (currently being rolled to all Field Service Engineers)
- Achilles Common Assessment Standard (CAS)
- Road Safety Week
- Finishing off with a ‘Country Walk’ – facilitated by our HR colleagues, many members went to Froggatt Edge (Peak District)
At Clarke Energy France security is a serious business but for the safety day we decided not to take ourselves too seriously with a number of fun activities.
The QHSE Unit has therefore organized activities:
- Fire truck for handling fire extinguishers
- Risk hunting workshop
- Board game KESKI RISK
- Online safety quiz
The main purpose of this day was to:
Present SECURITY differently and in a playful way,
Take the time to exchange views
Discuss safety topics that concern our employees on a daily basis
All in order to improve safety conditions at work and thus achieve zero accidents.
Clarke Energy’s operations in India celebrated Kohler Safety Day with all employees acknowledging that our safety is in our own hands, and we must do everything we can to stay safe.
