Glennies Creek Coal Gas Power Station
Glennies Creek is Envirogen’s fourth coal mine gas fired power station, with the first completed nearly 10 years ago. Each of the three existing sites is operated and maintained by Clarke Energy on behalf of Envirogen under a long-term operation & maintenance agreement. Glennies Creek Power Station is the second consecutive turnkey power station Clarke Energy have undertaken for Envirogen, the first being the 12MWe Oaky Creek in Queensland.
The contract includes the supply of 10 x 1MWe GE Jenbacher gas engines installed at Glennies Creek near Singleton in New South Wales. Each GE Jenbacher gas engine is installed in an individual custom designed and built enclosure that includes noise attenuation, ventilation, cooling, fire & gas detection, CO2 suppression and an integrated engine control room.
The overall site will be controlled and managed by a bespoke SCADA system designed and developed by Clarke Energy during construction of the Oaky Creek coal gas power station. The site is using waste gas that would otherwise be vented to atmosphere as a greenhouse gas.
Upon completion of commissioning and handover to Envirogen, Clarke Energy will operate and maintain the station under a long term operation and maintenance contract with availability guarantees, therefore becoming the fourth Envirogen power station operated and maintained by Clarke Energy.
