In engleza: Carthage Grains CHP Plant, Tunisia

Carthage Grains is the leader in the Maghreb in the trituration of the soya bean: production of oil and soybean meal. The process of Carthage Grains consumes electrical and thermal energy in the form of steam (30 to 35 tonnes per hour at 12 bar pressure).

As the supplier of Nejma Oil (a Clarke Energy customer since 2012), the choice of Carthage Grains for GE’s Jenbacher gas engine technology was based on Nejma Huiles’ satisfaction with its experience in cogeneration with Clarke Energy, as well as the performance of GE’s Jenbacher engines in very hot climatic conditions – designated for hot countries.

Thanks to the performance of its after-sales service, Clarke Energy relies on a Tunisian team, specialised in the maintenance of GE’s Jenbacher gas engines, and ensures an exceptional reactivity to provide the availability of its machines. Clarke Energy has a complete emergency stock to avoid long stops.

The engine installed on the Carthage Grains site is of JMS 620 type, with an electrical output of 3,300 kWe and a thermal power in the form of hot water of 1,958 kW and in the form of steam: 2.3 tonnes / hour of steam (12bar).

This installation allowed the customer to reduce 25% on his energy bill and avoid carbon emissions of 640 tonnes / month of CO₂. The customer expects to amortize its investment for a period of 2.5 years.
