KNOWSLEY, MERSEYSIDE: Two Clarke Energy employees met Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at a reception in London at Buckingham Palace on the 14th July. This was followed by the official presentation of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise – the UK’s highest accolade for business success – by Dame Lorna Muirhead DBE the Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, on the 8th August in Knowsley.

Following the announcement that Clarke Energy had won the Queen’s Award on the 21st April. Clarke Energy’s Chief Financial Officer, Peter Holliday and Managing Director for the UK, Ireland and sub-Saharan Africa Haydn Rees met with HM Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip at Buckingham Palance in London. The reception took place with other winners of the Queen’s Awards at a special evening event at the palace.
This was followed by the official visit to Clarke Energy’s head office by Dame Lorna Muirhead, the Lord Lieutenant for Mersyside the Queen’s representative for the county. The visit included other high profile people from the region including Councillor Ron Round, Leader of Knowsley Council; Lesley Martin-Wright, Chief Executive of Knowsley Chamber and Deputy Lieutenant for Merseyside; Clive Drinkwater, Director of UKTI in Northwest England; Dale Milburn, Director of Business, Investment and Sustainability, Knowsley Council and Andy Snell, Director of International Trade, Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.
The visitors were given a presentation outlining Clarke Energy’s business, a tour around the facilities. The visit concluded with the presentation of internal company awards and finally the presentation of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade, signified by an engraved crystal bowl and certificate signed by the Queen and Prime Minister David Cameron.
