Clarke Energy is exhibiting in iPAD Katanga mining week on 20th – 21st October 2015, the largest outdoor exhibition in Lumbashi Democratic Republic of Congo.
Katanga Mining Briefing is an extended platform, as part of iPAD DRC Conference & Exhibition, which is designed to specifically enable access to the Katanga Province. This region is the main supplier of cobalt, copper, tin, radium, uranium for the Congolese mining industry. The capital city, Lubumbashi, is the second largest city in the DRC and this is where one of the days in the exhibition is held for a one-day business-to-business forum of facilitated sessions and meetings with key stakeholders.
Clarke Energy aims to strengthen partnerships in the region during the exclusive iPAD Katanga Mining Briefing as there are very few events that solely target the mining sector. In recent years, international studies have determined that 30-40% of all coal mines produce gas that can be effectively used for power generation with gas engines.
Clarke Energy will have a strong focus on diesel fuelled power at the event introducing the 616 Genset which goes where you need it – on or off the grid, in remote locations, and even under the most demanding operating conditions, providing you with reliable power at lower fuel cost, extended equipment life and smaller footprint.
The grid in Africa isn’t always stable, hence the need for other options to create power. Using renewables to produce energy could solve a big part of the on going energy issues. Clarke Energy has worked on several projects such as Moranbah North coal mine methane gas to power station containing 15 GE’s Jenbacher gas engines with electrical efficiencies higher than 43%.
Supported by the Ministry of Mines, the Government of Katanga and the Chamber of Mines DRC, the Katanga Mining Briefing is a great opportunity for Clarke Energy to extend the brand across Katanga to the mining market place.
