In the face of rising energy costs and environmental pressures, Sartex Group, a leader in the manufacturing of jeans in Tunisia, has embraced a forward-thinking energy solution. In partnership with Clarke Energy Tunisia, Sartex has installed a cutting-edge cogeneration power plant that not only enhances energy efficiency but also contributes to environmental sustainability.
The plant is powered by an INNIO Jenbacher J612 gas engine, which provides 2.0 MWe of electrical power and 2.0 MWth of thermal power. This innovative installation allows Sartex to optimize energy use across its industrial processes, including washing and drying, while reducing reliance on the national electricity grid.
Key Benefits:
– Reduction of dependence on the electricity network.
– Optimization of thermal energy for industrial processes (washing and drying).
– Reduction of carbon emissions by 3.4 tonnes per year.
This project demonstrates how energy efficiency and industrial performance can be integrated seamlessly, creating a more sustainable future for the textile industry. To learn more about this innovative success story utilizing cogeneration, watch the video below.
