Clarke Energy UK participated in their third Global Safety Week (5th -9th June 2023). Facilitated by the Knowsley QUENSH Team, this was a business wide initiative with activities based at the Knowsley Site – and including our Operational Engineering colleagues.
Such activities included:
- Hazard Hunt (To be made available site wide and Knowsley)
– Prizes to be won. - Awareness of our highest causes of accidents (Bulletins to be sent)
– Slips, trips and fall.
– Manual handling
– PPE – selection and misuse of - Site wide poster campaign and factsheets (all employees were sent emails)
– Introduction of new Personal Safety Act Pledge for Site.
– Introduction of new PPE Logo & Workwear/PPE. - PPE workshop facilitated and ran by Tony Botham (QUENSH Officer)
- HR Health Wellness campaign
– Blood Pressure testing for individuals (this will now be an ongoing monthly activity)
– Pocket size booklets & Stress balls on this topic were available during the blood pressure testing– for personal use
– Mental Health First Aiders were available throughout the day.
– First Aiders were also available for friendly advice and knowledge.
– Little Annie Workshop ran via St John’s ambulance (drop-in sessions)
- Announcements of current and upcoming significant events
– Introduction of our new Evotix Near Miss campaign - Finishing off with a ‘Beach Clean’ – facilitated by QUENSH colleagues, many members went to Leasowe Bay (Wirral)

– 30 people joined in with Blood Pressure testing.
– 10 hazards & 2 good observations from business Hazard Hunt
– PPE Workshop Drop-in session (20 people attended)
– Safety Crossword Puzzle (30 people)
– Beach Clean (6 people attending)
