COGEN World Coalition Members Elect Alex Marshall as Vice President

Alex Marshall, Group Business Development and Marketing Director for Clarke Energy has been elected as a Vice President of the COGEN World Coalition (CWC) for a term of three years, starting this June 2024.

Elections to the Management Board and Officer positions were held during the CWC General Assembly on 3 June 2024. Following these elections, the Management Board welcomes two new members: Julio Artiñano Pascual (COGEN España) and Daniel Salazar González (Cogenera México A.C.).

Alex Marshall commented on his goals following the appointment:

“I am absolutely delighted by the support given to my by my industry peers with election as Vice President of the Cogen World Coalition, representing Clarke Energy and Kohler Energy. My goal is to champion the deployment of energy efficient, resilient, low carbon and renewable distributed generation globally. The United Nations COP28 reached an international agreement to double annual rate of energy efficiency improvements by 2030 – combined heat power and cooling technologies are a key way of doing this. Data centres in particular are a booming sector looking to develop onsite power – there are big wins here for the developers and operators by improving energy efficiency through cooling or district energy.

CWC President Thomas Smith commented on the outcomes of the General Assembly on June 3rd:

“I am very pleased that Alex Marshall has agreed to serve as a Vice President of CWC and I look forward to working closely with Alex and the whole Management Board in the coming months and years. The global energy landscape continues to evolve at a rapid pace, and as an association we rely on the expertise and knowledge that the members of our Management Board collectively provide.”
